If you have a 1997-2008 Boxster/Cayman (986/987) or 1999-2005 911 (996/early 997), yes. The Intermediate Shaft bearing can fail catastrophically. We can inspect it without major disassembly on most models. For peace of mind, an upgraded bearing during clutch replacement is sensible preventative maintenance.
Every 40,000-60,000 km for fluid and filter change. PDK is incredibly sophisticated—the dual-clutch system needs clean fluid to operate smoothly. Skipping service leads to harsh shifts and eventually expensive mechatronic repairs. It's one of those "pay now or pay more later" situations.
The plastic coolant pipes on Cayennes (especially the first and second generation) become brittle in Dubai's heat and crack. It's a known issue. We recommend proactive replacement around 80,000 km—the parts aren't expensive, but a roadside failure can overheat and damage the engine.
